New Name for the Blog

"The time has come," the Walrus said, "to talk of many things,
of shoes and ships, of sealing wax, of cabbages and kings."

Looking up the name "Dancing in the Dark" in Google, Bing, Yahoo or any other of the search engines will give you maybe 30 or 40 pages of possibles. 99.99 % are of the music and/or novels with that title.

Makes it a little difficult for our blog to get search engine hits. Therefore a name change must come about. Specially since some day some other people are goiing to take this over.

In our dancing circles the name as been in use since 1995, when I first used it on USABDA newsletter which was immediately criticised by many, probably for artistic reasons.

USABDA chose not to renew my commitment to the newsletter. So I began an entirely new publication in January of 1996, titled, Dancing in the Dark. Ten years later I wanted to devote myself to the West and thought I should drop it. Then I decided to drop the blog too and Frank decided to take it over.

He kept it for a while and then decide to make his own blog which has turned out to be very successful. I then restarted Dancing in the Dark and it has been going through its ups and downs. It is just not up to Town Dancer blog in hits, which of course has so many good Guest Authors and then not hampered by the same name in songs or novels.

"Stranger In Paradise" by Tony Bennett

I have come up with a few examples and I will probably make the change by February 1. Then go through the Search Engine Optimization over again and we should be on our merry way.

Latin Dancing

Club Dancer

Cultural Dancer

Con Sabor Latino

Fusion Dancer

Latin Dance is overdue as a Social Dance. We take the top disciplines, American, Country and International and we just eliminate, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz and Paso Doble. Everything else fits is quite nicely for what could be offered in Social Latin Dancing.
