“The secret to success is to start from scratch and keep on scratching.”
Debby Borges Barbosa looks like a young girl yet. But she has been in the dance business on this island for a long time. She knows her dancing very well and her dance studio, (with a recently renovated dance floor,) is one of the most used in Honolulu. She is married to the talented musician, Carlos Barboza, and together, they represent a very good portion of the dance and music spectrum in Honolulu and even beyond.
"Teach Me Tonight" by the DeCastro Sisters
The diversity of opinion throughout this island is just terrific. And it should be obvious that so many differences in opinion have already been expressed or implied by the happenings in our blogosphere. Most is very good, for it has been all upfront where everyone can see it. None of this chintzy, back stabbing, gossiping lying deals. You are know Da Kine.
"Tennessee Waltz" by Patti Page
Albert Franz is known by just about everyone in Honolulu. He built a very good reputation as a Ten Dance Champion in his time. Has been in Honolulu now for over 30 years so he knows his way around. Now teaching some of the best International dancers in town. Many applying their dancing in social fashion only at places like the Palladium. His studio is also available on a rental basis, naturally.
"Mr Sandman" by the Chordettes
And these differences are becoming more apparent to the rest of the reader/dancers of these Islands, specially our reader/dancers. Very, very good. Isn't that what we have been trying to do? Fortunately, with all the competition in town; studios, dance clubs and night clubs are getting less demanding.
Our advantage is that it will no longer be hidden like "The Creative Researchers And Producers" And our reader/dancers are not stupid, they can read all of the implications out there. We will accept our differences. We are not made with a cookie cutter.
