King Kamehameha Day

Kamehameha Day has always been on June 11th but often changed around to suit the weekend. In our Dancing Circles on Oahu it is officially ignored.
"Always do right -- this will gratify some and astonish the rest."

So it is very gratifying to see that Arthur Murray took advantage of the opportunity to get their commercial in. They also sent out a nice photo, unfortunately, as per usual, no names for the people.

In our dance circles on this island, it has always been policy that the group is numbah one. The people? later for them. In blogging the people are numbah one and the organizations are secondary. But blogging is still relatively new and we are learning as well as everyone else.

One good thing is that the Arthur Murray Studios seem to be on the increase to have dance parties. And not only for the students. Meeting new people is productive in that environment and they will get new clients, that is for sure.

I didn't get any feedback from the dancers the last time I attended a party but I will try to get a few quotes for the next party I attend. In fact I am going to try doing this for all our clients and give them all a chance to get their licks in. We sure need them.

Also I look forward to Arthur Murray Studio to set up the first Tea Dance on Oahu. With the proposition of having a Happy Hour with less alcohol and more dancing and socializing. Must have a dance floor bigger than Rumours. This applies specially for the non residents of Honolulu, to spend a few pleasant moments after work, in the middle of the week. Then leave for home on a relatively clear freeway.

"Tiny Bubbles" By Don Ho

A Quotation: "If you observe a really happy person you will find that person building a boat, writing a symphony, educating their children, growing double dahlias in their garden, or looking for dinosaur eggs in the Gobi desert.

"They will not be searching for happiness as if it were a collar button that has rolled under the radiator.  They will not be striving for it as a goal in itself.  They will have become aware that they are happy in the course of living life twenty-four crowded hours of the day."

Yes the regular price of dinner and dance in Waikiki is going up. May hit $125 for the "deluxe shows" by the end of the year. It’s a good thing the rootzi tootzis in the town can afford this. Of course that will lead inevitably to some terrific entertaining celebrations in the West very soon. Stands to reason. And the people in West Oahu are going to have a ball, believe me. No need rail, "I coulda been home in twenty minutes."
