Boogie Woogie has its roots in the European 6-count style of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Boogie Woogie is famous for its fast and smooth footwork and is usually danced to the original music of the late 40's and 50's with an emphasis on "improvisation." If you are already a lindyhopper or East Coast Swing dancer, this class will add some sizzle to your routines. Beginning dancers are welcome, but will benefit from having had some partner dancing experience.

The Big Apple is a classic set of jazz steps danced in a circle which is traditionally improvised and called, but ever since Frankie Manning and the rest of Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers put it on film, Frankie’s set of moves have been “THE” set of moves. You need no dance background to enjoy these up-tempo and sassy steps!

Secrets of Good Partner Dancing. Do you want to be able to dance with anybody and look great? This class will cover balance, timing, and connection with your partner. Leads will learn how to get their partners to do what they want them to safely and smoothly. Follows will learn how to look accomplished even when given unfamiliar cues. If you’re new to partner dancing, this class is a must. If you’ve been dancing for a while, this class will enhance your frame and communication skills.

Intermediate level classes; dancers should know swingout already. Lindy Hop Swingout Options. Subtle changes in leading the swingout will redirect the follow, opening up many styling possibilities.

In Secrets of Improvisation, you’ll learn how to interpret the music to create your own unique dances. Enjoy playing with the rhythm and reflecting changes in the music’s emotions!
Balboa, a swing dance form native to Southern California which features subtle, smooth, shuffling footwork in eight counts. Four classes will be offered, introducing you to basic footwork, some popular turns and moves to dress up your dance. The fourth class will be in a “workshop” format, and will address questions and topics from the dancers. Beginners are welcome; please start with the first class before progressing to the later sessions.
