Agnes June Kwok Hing Loureiro of Honolulu passed away peacefully on June 14, 2010 at home.
Born in Hong Kong on June 25, 1925, to James Kim Fook June and Alice Yuk King Wu June, Agnes was a brilliant child who excelled in school. Though the Japanese occupation deprived her of almost four years of education, Agnes bravely applied to nursing school after World War II. She went on to carve an outstanding career in nursing at Hong Kong's renowned Queen Mary Hospital. She is predeceased by her husband, Peter Jose daSilva Loureiro. She is survived by her son, Dr. Pedro (Dawn) Loureiro, daughters Marie (Dr. Paul) Laderta and Regina Loureiro, grandchildren, Sophia and Peter Loureiro, step-grandchild, Lindsey Dills, brothers, Chung Kwok Wai and Thomas June, and sisters, Lillian Venpin, Christina Loo and Veronica Lee.
Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary, East Chapel. Service will be at 11:45 AM. Entombment will be at 12:45 PM. Lunch to follow.
